First of all, you probably haven't seen this website, so please check it out.
The website may seem daunting and high brow, but seriously, just start clicking. Watch some of the talks. These people are inspiration epitomized. I watched one talk from Karen Armstrong about compassion in religion. Just imagine the possibility, compassion for all religions FROM all religions, imagine the impact. http://www.ted.com/talks/view/id/234
I also watched a woman speak about strokes. She was a neurologist who had a stroke. She realized partly into her stroke that she was having one and speaks about what it was like to experience it from the inside....amazing stuff.
Then I watched Dave Eggers. I honestly don't know who most of these people are. There are some talks from Bill Clinton, Al Gore and other notables, but for the most part they are brilliant people who every year speak to other brilliant people to share ideas. If only I could atttend one of these conferences.....
But I digress, Dave Eggers spoke about his organization Once Upon a School and the difference he made in thousands of childrens lives and how he and his friends have changed their neighborhood entirely. They opened up a pirate supply store, recruited 1400 volunteers and made a difference.
Watch and see.
